- At wednesday I finished my last exam of this year. It was in MAT100B. The second last was INF101. I'm pretty satisfied with my effort on both exams. My hopes are of at least 1.5 on the INF101, and a C on the MAT100B. That means I'll hoping for a B in total in the MAT100B.
- So after the exam on wednesday there were a huge party at "RF-kjellern". It was seriously great! Me beeing drunk...? Weeell.... Kinda (:
- I started work yesterday. A good thing. At least for my economy.
- I was up last night talking to the old guys. In fact, we had a chat on IRC! Haven't had that in ages! In fact it was really fun. Who? Domar, kleppa, SPIV, OBic, Kimber and I... One good comment from glenn: "Se! Hele ZErtA-gjengen @ #Larvik.nu" (:
- It was nice coming home. I was supposed to watch a movie together with Cathrine, but then she got a visit from an old school teacher. We'll do it some other time instead.

- Yesterday I was at a Garbage concert. Røyksopp was warming up. I really liked that band! Great light-fx! Anyway, before we got in we had to go home again. The "extra-part" of the ticket had been ripped off! Kind of odd, but I found them at home. So then we got in and watched a good concert with Garbage. I liked it. And the ending with "Only Happy When It Rains" was great! (:
- Today I'm going to read some ex.phil. together with Martin I guess. Or maybe some mathematics.
American Pie 2 & GlasMagasinet - updated information

- I've seen American Pie 2 tonight. The film was ok. But the quality I watched it in was stinky. ): But hey, it was fun (:
- I've been working with transferring the XML-db for GlasMagasinet's webpages into an MySQL-db. I've done the transfer, however some small issues are still left regarding the data transfer. Some more data should be transferred, and I know that there was some problems with at least one table. But I'll fix it tomorrow I guess. I'll also fix up some tables. The data is not correctly saved for SQL-db now.
- I've gone through the code, and found out that I believe only a change of the db-backend is needed. So I believe the coding needed is just about very little (: At least I hope so.
- Now I believe I deserve some dinner.

- The weekend in Grimstad was great! I decided to get drunk both days, and that I managed (: The company was just perfect! Too bad Carl Thomas wasn't there. Maybe I'll write more on this issue later.
- Sunday evening after some work, Anne Marie and I went to my sister Ingvild and ate hot dogs and talked. It was nice!
- Today I've been doing mathematics, and I've been working with the finish of an optimization report on glasmagasinet.no. The important parts of the report is listed here:

- Shortening the CSS-script will not help significantly. It will help about 1-2% on normal pages, and a bit more on small raw text-pages.
- Changing to IFRAME for more pages will reduce compability with Netscape to about 0% compability, which is _not_ wanted.
- Images still load slow, but this is not caused by the server or the ISP of the server. Since the page text now loads fast, this is not any longer a big problem.
- Changing the database backend from XML til SQL will increase the speed about 300-400%.

- At Friday I went to a vorspiel with my best friend, Levy. Afterwards, we went to Sandvika and was at a show/concert with "Klovner i Kamp". It was great! I crashed at Levy's place.
- On Saturday Levy and I relaxed all day. He made a great breakfast and to dinner we had salmon, pasta and gorgonzola pasta sauce. Good (:
- In the evening I went to a party together with Levy and Anne Marie. The people there was people like; Einar, Ellen Cecilie, Anne, Therese, Inger, Simen, Magnus... "The good old guys". I enjoyed it! (:
- Anne Marie spent the night at my place. We ate hot dogs when we came home from the party, before we went to sleep. We started to see Shrek, but we doze off.
- Today Levy came to visit, so all three of us saw Shrek. Afterwards Levy left, Anne Marie and I ate hot dogs... Then we saw "Men of Honor" which was a really good movie! I liked it a lot.
- After Anne Marie left, I spent the evening with Tholo. We ate burgers at McDonalds. Or... We bought burgers at McDonalds, and ate'em at home.
- I sent a mail and got a mail from Siv Annett today. That made me happy (:

A good week and a great call

- This week I've got to spend some time with Anne Marie. That's great! Most of the other time I've been doing mathematics. We have a huge hand-in tomorrow, and I hope I'll do well.
- Siv Annett called me today! I was _really_ excited! I missed seeing her off when she left Norway on Monday and I was really sorry about that. But today she called me... *huge smile!* She even said she missed me... I felt warm inside when I heard her voice. I realize that I really miss her!
- Today my dad visited. He got to see Anne Marie also this morning. He had a CD for Einar and a box of stuff that I should work with for NordMail.
- Anne Marie just left. Or... I drove her home that is. It was a good night. She wasn't here for a long time, and we were lying on the bed and talking and listening to music all the time. It was really cosy!
- Now I'm going to go to talk to Tholo. And deliver back his car keys.

I started coding on an application for UiO. I didn't manage to sort the result, but I'll do that later. At 'bout halv past twelve, I went out together with Catrine and Anne Marie. A good night! I was home at 'bout 04:30.
- Today I've been visiting my grandparents (on my mother's side). It was great!
- Today Ingvild, Anne Marie and I drove in to Oslo. I've been eating some hot dogs, and now I'm leaving for a short while.

- Phillippe made a case out of this, and solved the problem. The first day of this problem, I found 8b = 19a, and found that this could not be, since 19 is more than one character. So I put it away. But the next day, Phillippe thought that he proved that this was impossible! It was a good proof, but not a perfect one. It had one error. Today he found the error and I could plot in the startvalue, and get the value:

After checking the result with the calculations of how long time the JVM uses on this, the Java program would have finished in about 25700 years from now. A string-based conversion in C/C++ would have used about half the time. After some optimization, maybe we could get it even faster... (:

- I was at Blindern this afternoon. There I met Martin. Friday morning, he's leaving for Portugal for a week! That bastard!
- I got my new DVD player today. It's a stationary one. Mustek V520. It supports even MP3, CD, CD-R, VCD, DVCD and you name it! It worked really well.

- This night I was reading in a Norwegian science magazine, Illustrert Vitenskap (Illustrated Science). It was an excercise there which was kind of hard. If one has a positive integer of x chars, then move the last char to the front, and shift every other char to the right. Ex: 1234 -->> 4123. Now, find the lowest integer that gets the double value in this way. So I figured that this was a job for a computer and coded the program. After some debugging and code cleanup, this is the result (in Java):

But after checking om comp.lang.c++, it was the common opinion that the compiler often makes a jump-table so it would be faster with the switch-statement anyway... so he decided to use that, as he had done in the first place. - Kleppa and I has just started on the work of a engine for video reviews. should be easy-to-use and practical. - siv annett, anne siri and elsi is now in tunisia. i miss them very much. luckily siv annett has called me many times. it is grat when she calls me! i've now figured out how much i depend my day on talking to her. it isn't any fun at all not to be able to contact her! i miss her a lot... ): i really look forward to when she comes home!
- i haven't decided whether i want to go to the pre-course in mathematics before i start my studies at UiO.
